With the increasing development of Lisbon and Almada, the need arises to increase the territory on both sides. These landfills, aimed at strengthening commercial links between the two cities ended up cementing a physical barrier filled with warehouses and industry that broke the dialogue with the river. The industry’s shift over the last century has made these territories obsolete. In Almada we found only one line of industrial buildings in ruins that tell the story of that territory. This thesis proposes, after a historical analysis of the development of this territory, a solution to the regeneration in an urban scale, which will be part of the insertion of the future Research Center for Landscape and Portuguese Territory.
