What is identified as Berlenga does not maintain it’s own form in the bowels of the rocks, in fact series of caves and passages in the underground circulate in it’s inside modifying the materiality. In fact, the shelter is situated between the water and the air, held up by a rocky. The shelter is the expression of the basic instinct of men to tame nature for his benefit, turning back from the “familiar” resemblance to the same origins by a series of pile-dwelling made of wood. Those recall ancient societies which are not yet extinguished and often taken as keys of certainty. Wood as a material which is still “alive”, marks the passing of time of a timeless structure.
